The University of Arkansas Oboe Studio is a group of passionate, thriving young oboists united in the common pursuit of learning to be the best possible oboists and oboe reed-makers. The studio meets weekly all together to discuss special topics and to perform for each other in an environment of support. All students also meet weekly with their “reed pod,” a small supervised group devoted to improving reed-making and sharing reed-making ideas.

Oboe students enjoy their time together.

Every semester the studio has a performance. In the fall, students perform solos on the oboe studio recital, and in the spring students perform Bach arias on annual Bach concert. Students also have many other opportunities to perform, in chamber music and solo settings, and in large ensembles.
